Cosmit trade fair organisers in Milan called it "another record-breaking edition". The 48th Salone Internazionale del Mobile ended on April 27 2009 in Milan’s trade fair district in Rho with a figure of 278,000 visitors: + 14% over the 2007 fair, which included the biennial event Euroluce.
The concluding statement to the press says that "The Salons’ international success is once again confirmed by an increased number of foreign visitors: 153,456 visitors from 151 different countries, including 42 in Europe, in the Americas, 47 in Asia, 25 in Africa and 6 in Oceania. The majority of international visitors came from Russia, Germany and France".
124,544 Italian dealers participated in the event, confirming that the sector is holding on despite the difficulties of recent years and the current recession.
